AHHS Seniors and Families: We’re hosting a FAFSA Completion Night on Dec. 3rd (tomorrow) from 5:30-7:00 PM in Room 105. Our ISAC representative, Erin Coveny, will be there to assist families with filling out the FAFSA form and answer any questions.
What to bring: -Laptop -Social Security Number (SS#) -StudentAid.gov ID (for both student and parent) — be sure to remember your username and password to access and submit the 2025 FAFSA form.

The Patriot's Pen Essay Contest, organized annually by the VFW, invites nearly 68,800 students in grades 6–8 to reflect on America’s history and their own experiences in modern society. 🎓SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Alden-Hebron's "I Decided" campaign features & celebrates the post-secondary plans of the Class of 2025.
AHHS senior, Zachary Lillie: Ever since I first met my recruiter in my junior year, joining the Marine Corps became a calling. The day I turned 17, I signed the papers to join. A few days later, I went to MEPS where I passed all medical examinations and was officially sworn in. I signed up to be in 4 years of active duty where for 1 year I will be a military police officer and 3 years as a dog handler/trainer. Joining the corps will set me up for life with skills, give me a whole different view of life, and provide me with benefits. I can't wait to serve and give back to my country.
AHHS: Grand Canyon University visited for our "College and Career Readiness" lunch and learn series. The Grand Canyon University rep answered student questions, shared materials/resources, shared information about different programs, and provided information about scholarships offered.

Normal practice times for everyone except HS boys will move to 7:00-9:00. Also just so everyone knows we are going to try to play FS & Varsity Boys Basketball so I will post the schedule today with the correct times. ***
LCTC: Tour of Tech, our annual open house, is on Thursday, November 14th, from 4:30-7:30.
This is an excellent opportunity for prospective students and their parents to explore what Tech offers.

The Community Foundation for McHenry County is pleased to announce the launch of our 2024-2025 scholarship opportunities. Enclosed is a flyer with a QR code linking to our scholarship opportunities page, where students can explore the variety of scholarships available to support their educational journey.
Each scholarship represents the generosity of donors committed to fostering the next generation of professionals, whether in the arts, education, healthcare, engineering, or other fields.

AHHS: Career Day at McHenry County College
The 2024 Career Day was held at MCC on Friday, November 1st.
After attending the welcome session, the AHHS students went to three breakout sessions of their choice. There were several different sessions to choose from, which included career topics such as healthcare, graphic design, legal careers, engineering, welding and automotive, fine arts, and more.
