We value feedback from our families. Share it through the Illinois 5Essentials Survey though March 11th. 5Essentials Parent Survey: The parent survey takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and is available in English and Spanish. To take the survey, visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/. One survey per child can be submitted per family. The survey window will be open until March 11, 2022. Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child. Thank you in advance for providing us with your feedback. Sincerely, Tiffany Elswick District 19 Superintendent

Yesterday the Prenatal to Three Program enjoyed a fun-filled group with Nursery Rhyme activities. The "littlest Giants" helped Itsy Bitsy spider 🕷 down his spout, played with Mary and her lamb, clapped Patty Cake 🧁 and got to know the Muffin Man! What a great playgroup! It is amazing to watch them play and GROW.

February is CTE Month and we would like to highlight some of our students in Career Technical Education! "I choose to take Emergency Medical Sevices at LCTC because I want to further my career in being a firefighter/paramedic. This class allows for more hands-on learning and being put in realistic situations you may see once you go out into the field. I really do love the environment, and meeting new people with the same goals. You work very closely with your peers to overall prepare you for the real world if you decide to go down this career path." ---Emergency Medical Sevices student, Sandra Valdez

District 19 Community, Late Friday night, the CDC changed its order, and the CDC will no longer require face masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems. Effective Monday, February 28, face masks will be optional on all D19 school buses. The masking change aligns with the updated guidance released Friday afternoon that no longer recommends universal indoor masking in K-12 schools in areas with a low or medium COVID-19 community level. McHenry County currently falls in the low community level range, which does not contain a recommendation on masking. Additionally, late Friday afternoon, the Illinois Supreme Court declined to rule on the merits of the appeal (i.e., whether the Governor had the authority to issue the Executive Orders). However, the Supreme Court did exercise its authority to vacate the temporary restraining order (TRO). A vacated order undoes or makes the previous ruling/judgment legally void. Shortly after the Supreme Court’s order, the Governor announced that in light of the revised CDC guidelines, the Illinois school mask mandate will be lifted effective Monday, February 28, 2022. Thank you for your support and understanding during all of these COVID 19 mitigation changes. Tiffany Elswick District 19 Superintendent
